You really should listen to the “egineering” team, and it wouldn’t hurt for some “egineers” to work on their communications and sales skills.

While I agree, it’s usually a lot easier for technical people to work on their sales and marketing skills than for sales and marketing folks to work on their technical skills.
At my current employer, the founder has a saying he’s quite fond of: “You’re either in sales or in sales support.”
Also, this reminds me of an old joke:
Q: What’s the difference between a car salesperson and a software salesperson?
A: The car salesperson usually knows when they’re lying.
