This week in Tampa Bay’s tech scene, we’ve got two in-person events with two speakers with really similar — but not identical — last names. When an interesting coincidence like this comes up, my rule is to lean into it hard — hence “Subra-mania!”
On Tuesday, we have Dr. Venkat SubramaniaM (ending with an “M”), founder of Agile Developer Inc., award-winning co-author of Practices of an Agile Developer (and a lot of other books), and the Java developer’s Java developer. He’ll be speaking at the Tampa Bay Techies / Tampa Devs / Tampa Java User Group meetup at Kforce giving his talk, Design Trade-Offs in Modern Architectures, and it’ll be a “don’t miss” event. I’ll be there to catch his talk, as well as to get him to autograph my copy of Practices of an Agile Developer. You can find out more about the meetup here.
On Wednesday, we have Sri SubramaniaN (ending with an “n”), Director of Data Engineering at SurveyMonkey, and very into AI/ML, big data, and data analytics. He’ll be at Data Analytics – Tampa Bay meetup at the Entrepreneur Collaborative Center, where he’ll talk about good quality, timely data, and what an end-to-end data platform at scale looks like. You can find out more about the meetup here.
